The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is committed to reversing the childhood obesity epidemic by 2015! "We need to restore "energy balance" in children's lives, so they aren't taking in more calories than they burn." To do what we HAVE to in order to change the environments in which we live.

Our Mission:

The Epidemic

In the past 4 decades obesity rates have soared among all age groups...
The age group increasing the most is CHILDREN ages 6-11!
Today nearly 49% of children and adolescents are overweight or obese!

That equates to more than 23 MILLION KIDS!
IF WE DON'T ACT - "We are in danger of raising the first generation of American children who may LIVE SICKER and DIE YOUNGER than the generation before them!"
